Email capture
Email is the zero-install channel. Forward anything to your bin address and the message becomes an item: subject and body as the text, attachments stored as files.
Your capture address
When you claim your invite you get a personal address that looks like:
mellow-otter-7fb2@withbin.com
It is unique to you. You can see it any time in the app under Settings, shown read-only.
Forward a message
Forward (or auto-forward) any email to your address. The subject and body become the item; attachments are kept as files on the item.
- One-off: forward a specific email when you want to capture it.
- Standing rule: set an auto-forward filter in your mail client so a whole category of mail flows into bin without thinking about it.
Sender allowlist
For your security, bin only accepts mail from addresses on your own allowlist. Your invited email is added automatically. To capture from another address of yours, add it to your allowlist first. Mail from an unknown sender is dropped, not captured.
This is what keeps your capture address from becoming a spam target: a stranger who learns the address still cannot put anything in your inbox.
